This sub-section contains poems generated by some software I wrote at one point. It needs updating for current computers, so I don't offer it here now, but some poems I create with it are featured here.
What? You think the poems are a bit weird? Well, they're supposed to be. That's because the words (given to the software by the user--me in the case of the poems here) are somewhat randomly assembled by the software. To keep things from being complete nonsense, though, certain syntax rules are applied. It should be noted, though, that software isn't necessary to make such strange poems. You could do the same thing by shuffling cards with words on them and following certain syntax rules. There are games you can buy which let you do something like this. Software, though, facilitates the process. Searching the Web may locate such software you can use. If you download my book below, it describes how you can randomly create poems without software (creating poems that way may be tedious, but perhaps worth the effort).
The poems, it seems are actually extremely short stories, or a glimpse of some moment in time. So, in that sense, they belong on this story page, though they have no pictures to go along with them.
Poems in the Latest section below are added each day. Those five days old or more are removed to make room for new poems. Bookmark this page for quick access.
Latest poem on top, earliest on bottom. If it's on the bottom, it will be gone tomorrow.
Is there a poem up there that you particularly like? Please let me know. The ones that get the most favorable responses will be candidates for a compilation. Use the feedback form (no private information, not even your name or e-mail, is necessary to give--just your opinion matters).
The above is a software-generated-poetry book in PDF format which will be downloaded by clicking the link. The poems were made by software mentioned in this sub-section's description. On the right side of the book are links to products from a company which makes word games. Click to check them, or related products, out.
Click here to read a few more poems like the ones in the book. They're bizarre.
"They are monumental literary achievements incorporating elements of Baroque rationalism with a synthesis of a representative sample of ideas formulated during the neoclassical interlude."--George Parashis, author of the stories and impartial judge of his own works
" "--The New York Times
"I like your rabbits."--Shakespeare (1564-1616)
"I like your rabbits too."--Einstein (18something-195something)
